Refund and Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 18 August 2026
This policy explains the Website Pilot commercial refund terms and the separate statutory cancellation information that may apply to a consumer distance service contract. It forms part of the Website Pilot Terms and Conditions.
1. Trader identity and contact
Techne Kaizen is a trading name of Joshua Nimako, sole trader.
34 Summerton WayLondon
SE28 8QX
United Kingdom
Email: info@technekaizen.com
2. Website Pilot payment structure
- Website Pilot total: £600.
- Deposit due at contract formation: £200, forming part of the £600 total.
- Remaining balance: £400, due after the completed website is approved and ready for launch and payable before launch.
3. Commercial policy for business purchases
For a purchase made wholly or mainly for purposes related to a trade, business, craft or profession, the £200 deposit reserves production capacity and is normally retained if the customer cancels the project.
If Techne Kaizen determines that the proposed project is outside the fixed Website Pilot scope before proceeding, the £200 deposit will be refunded in full.
Techne Kaizen may agree a different outcome in writing where appropriate. This commercial policy does not override a statutory right that legally applies.
4. When consumer cancellation rights apply
You may qualify as a consumer if you are acting wholly or mainly outside your trade, business, craft or profession. A checkout classification is evidence of what you represented; it does not remove rights that apply as a matter of law.
For an online Website Pilot service contract with a consumer, the statutory cancellation period will normally end 14 days after the day the contract is entered into.
You do not need to give a reason to exercise that statutory cancellation right.
5. How to cancel
To cancel, send a clear statement of your decision to:
You may use the model form in section 10, but you do not have to use it. A clear email or other unambiguous statement is sufficient. To meet a statutory deadline, it is enough to send the cancellation communication before the period expires.
Please include enough information to identify the contract, such as your name, business or project name, email address and contract date. Do not include full card details.
6. Starting the service during the cancellation period
Techne Kaizen will not silently begin chargeable performance for a consumer during an applicable cancellation period.
If you want the Website Pilot to begin during that period, checkout asks for a separate express request. The control is not preselected and is separate from Terms acceptance and analytics, advertising or marketing choices.
If the service begins following your express request and you later cancel before completion, you may be required to pay an amount proportionate to the service supplied up to the time you communicate cancellation. The proportion is assessed against the £600 total contract price unless the law requires a different basis.
You will not be charged for work during the cancellation period where the law says no charge is due, including where the required cancellation or payment information was not supplied or work did not begin following the required express request.
7. Full performance during the cancellation period
If the service is fully performed during an applicable cancellation period, the statutory cancellation right ends only where performance began after the required express request and you gave the legally required acknowledgement that the right would be lost once the service was fully performed.
8. Refund timing and method
Where a statutory cancellation produces a refund, Techne Kaizen will make it without undue delay and within the period required by law. The refund will normally use the original payment method unless another method is expressly agreed and does not create a fee for you.
A lawful proportionate charge for service already supplied may be deducted where applicable. Payment providers and banks may take additional time to display a refund after Techne Kaizen initiates it.
9. Service quality rights
Cancellation rights are separate from rights and remedies relating to a service that is not provided with reasonable care and skill or does not match information that is binding on the trader. Nothing in this policy removes a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Model cancellation form
Complete and return this form only if you wish to cancel. You may instead send any other clear statement.
